Runes are special items available in the Season of Discovery in WoW Classic. These runes can be equipped to your gear, providing your character with powerful passive effects. King of the Jungle | Tiger’s Fury now increases all physical damage you deal by 15% instead of by a flat value, and instantly grants you 60 Energy. It is no longer on the global cooldown, but it now has its own 30-second cooldown. | Feet |
Survival Instincts | When activated, this grants you 30% of your maximum health for 20 seconds. After the effect expires, the health is lost. Useable in any form. - Interact with the Abandoned Snapjaw Nest to obtain the Abandoned Snapjaw Egg.

- Find the Empty Snapjaw Nest at 48.1, 40.2 and interact with it.
- This will spawn several Oasis Snapjaw Hatchlings, and you will receive the Rune of Lacerate.

- Defeat Moonrage Whitescalp and Moonrage Darkrunner west of the lake until you receive the Unbalanced Idol.

- Use a healing spell (such as Healing Touch) on 10 friendly beasts. This includes Hunter pets, Druids in bear or cat form, and Shamans in Ghost Wolf form. Main cities are ideal for finding these targets.

To obtain the Wild Growth rune (Hands) in Ashenvale, Duskwood, and Hillsbrad Foothills during the Season of Discovery, follow these steps:
Find the Symbols in Any Order:
- Symbol of the First Owl (Ashenvale)
- Go to Ashenvale at coordinates 87, 43.
- Activate the owl statue to start an event where three waves of two level 25 enemies will attack you. Defeat them to obtain the Symbol of the First Owl.
- Symbol of the Second Owl (Duskwood)
- Go to the Twilight Grove in Duskwood at coordinates 50, 35.
- Interact with the statue, then defeat the level 25 boar Agon, found east of Twilight Grove around coordinates 64, 30, to obtain the Symbol of the Second Owl.
- Symbol of the Third Owl (Hillsbrad Foothills)
- Go to Hillsbrad Foothills and activate the statues at coordinates 36, 75 and 53, 81 to obtain the Symbol of the Third Owl. You have only two minutes to activate the second statue after the first.
Final Step:
- Bring the Symbols to Moonglade
- Teleport to Moonglade and bring all three symbols to the Druid trainer Loganaar at coordinates 52.4, 40.6.
- You will receive the Wild Growth rune.
How to Get Survival of the Fittest in SoD

- Turn in Waylaid Supplies and Supply Shipments to the Azeroth Commerce Authority faction until you reach Friendly status.
- Purchase the Rune
- Once you have achieved Friendly status, you can purchase the Skull Bash rune from the Azeroth Commerce Authority faction.

To obtain the Berserk rune (Waist) at level 28 in the Season of Discovery, follow these steps:
- Reach Level 28 and Train Challenging Roar
- Make sure you have reached level 28 and trained the ability Challenging Roar.
- Obtain Idol of the HecklerFind the Beastly Effigy
- Go to Thousand Needles and locate the Beastly Effigy around coordinates 69, 55.
- Use Challenging Roar on the Beastly Effigy to summon the Elite Zai’enki.
- Defeat Zai’enki to obtain the Idol of the Heckler.
- Equip the Idol of the Heckler
- Equip the Idol of the Heckler in the Relic slot.
- Taunt and Defeat Enemies
- Taunt 2 or more enemies with Challenging Roar and defeat at least one of them while they are taunted. Repeat this process to kill a total of 3 mobs.
- Activate the Rune
- After defeating 3 mobs, use the Idol of the Heckler to learn the Berserk rune.
How to Get Dreamstate in SoD
To obtain the Dreamstate rune (Feet) in Desolace during the Season of Discovery, follow these steps:
- Collect Desiccated Seed Pod
- Defeat Kolkar mobs in eastern Desolace, south of Sargeron around coordinates 70, 45, until you obtain a Desiccated Seed Pod.
- Transform the Seed Pod
- Swim in any pond in Desolace (for example, the pond around coordinates 70, 70) until the Desiccated Seed Pod turns into a Satyrweed Bulb.
- Plant the Seed
- Travel to Sargeron in the northeast and plant the seed in the Sandy Loam at coordinates 75, 20.
By following these steps, you will receive the Dreamstate rune.
How to Get Survival Instincts in SoD
To obtain the Survival Instincts rune (Feet) in Swamp of Sorrows during the Season of Discovery, follow these steps:
- Visit Amaryllis Webb
- Go to Amaryllis Webb in Swamp of Sorrows at coordinates 25.0, 54.2.
- Purchase the Entomology Starter Kit
- Buy the Entomology Starter Kit, which contains a Bug Catching Net and Field Guide.
- Catch Three BugsArbor Tarantula in Stranglethorn Vale:
- Head to the Venture Co. Base Camp at Lake Nazferiti.
- The Arbor Tarantula can spawn on several tree stumps in the camp, for example, at coordinates 43.8, 18.6; 44.2, 22.0; and 45.6, 23.0.
- Look in or near the stables and barns at the following farms:
- Northfold Manor: Known spawn locations are at 31.0, 26.2; 30.8, 28.6; and 32.2, 31.0.

To obtain the Nourish rune (Waist) in the Season of Discovery, follow these steps:
- Defeat Rotting Ancient
- In Dustwallow Marsh, defeat Rotting Ancient, which can spawn around coordinates 45, 51 or 42, 42.
- Loot Rotten Seed
- Loot Rotten Seed from the Rotting Ancient. This item starts the quest “The Lost Ancient.”
- Teleport to Moonglade
- Use teleportation to travel to Moonglade.
- Turn in The Lost Ancient
- Speak to Orokai at coordinates 41.8, 43.4 in Moonglade and turn in the quest “The Lost Ancient.” You will receive “The Lost Saplings” quest and a “Water of Elune’ara” item. Note: The water has a duration of 1 hour in real-time.
- Find and Water Four Ancient Saplings in the Eastern Kingdoms
- Winter Sapling: Located in Stahnbrad in Alterac Mountains (58, 44).
- Autumn Sapling: Found in Arathi Highlands (47, 72).
- Summer Sapling: Situated in Stranglethorn Vale (33, 65).
- Spring Sapling: Located in Swamp of Sorrows (10, 39).
- Return to Moonglade
- After watering all four saplings, teleport back to Moonglade. Turn in the quest at Orokai to receive the Rune of Nourishing.
How to Get Eclipse in SoD
To obtain the Eclipse rune (Waist) at level 30 in the Season of Discovery, follow these steps:
- Find the Extinguished Campfire
- Go to the Kodo Graveyard in Desolace at coordinates 47.5, 54.6. Here, you will find the Extinguished Campfire, which gives you the quest “Highway Robbery” (requires level 30).
- Turn in the Quest to Bibbly F’utzbuckle
- Head northeast to Bibbly F’utzbuckle at coordinates 62.2, 38.8 and turn in “Highway Robbery.” You will receive the quest “On the Lam.”
- Travel to Booty Bay
- Go to Booty Bay in Stranglethorn Vale and turn in “On the Lam” to Tokal in the Booty Bay Inn at coordinates 27.0, 77.2. You will receive the quest “Cherry for Your Thoughts?“
- Buy Cherry Grog
- Purchase Cherry Grog from Nixxrax Fillamug.
- Turn in the Quest to Tokal
- Return to Tokal and turn in “Cherry for Your Thoughts?” You will receive the quest “No Honor Among Thieves.”
- Use the Rowboat in Arathi Highlands
- Go to coordinates 53, 91 on the Arathi Highlands map and use the rowboat. This will teleport you to the eastern shore.
- Talk to Illari Duskfeather
- Speak with Illari Duskfeather at the docks at coordinates 93.8, 71.4 on the Arathi Highlands map.
- Fight Illari Duskfeather
- Engage in combat with Illari Duskfeather and loot her bag to get Illari’s Key.
- Note: Night Elves have the option to talk to her peacefully without fighting. If someone has just fought her, you can loot the key from her bag and wait for her to respawn to continue.
- Open the Chest Near Illari Duskfeather
- Use Illari’s Key to open the chest near Illari Duskfeather at the docks. Turn in the quest to receive the Jewel-Encrusted Box, which contains the Rune of Eclipse.
How to Get King of the Jungle in SoD
To obtain the King of the Jungle rune (Feet) in the Season of Discovery, follow these steps:
- Talk to Dalaran Agent
- Go to Ariden’s Camp in eastern Deadwind Pass at coordinates 52.0, 34.6 and talk to the Dalaran Agent. You will receive Ariden’s Sigil.
- Equip Ariden’s Sigil
- Equip Ariden’s Sigil, or be with a player who has it equipped.
- Defeat All 7 Dark Riders
- Find and defeat the 7 Dark Riders in the following locations to obtain their relics. You will get the Dark Presence buff when you’re in the correct spot. Use Ariden’s Sigil to reveal the Dark Rider.

- Deadwind Pass: ~ 44, 29 (drops Curious Dalaran Relic)
- Duskwood: ~ 23, 46 (drops Glittering Dalaran Relic)

- Buy the Rune of Bloodshed
- Purchase the Rune of Bloodshed for 1g 60s from one of the following Emerald Wardens Quartermasters:

- Thistleshrub Dew Collector, Thistleshrub Rootshaper, and Gnarled Thistleshrub in the southwest corner (northwest of Uldum) around coordinates 29, 66.
- Ground Pounder around Gadgetzan.
- Land Rager in Abyssal Sands.
- Defeat mobs in Tanaris to obtain the Idol of the Raging Shambler. Confirmed mobs that can drop it include:
- Equip the Idol of the Raging Shambler
- Equip the Idol of the Raging Shambler in the Relic slot.
- Defeat Enemies with Nature Damage
- Defeat 5 enemies (at least green level) using Nature damage while you are affected by Barkskin.
- Learn Improved Barkskin
- Use the Idol of the Raging Shambler to learn Improved Barkskin.

How to Get Gale Winds in SoD

- Find the Path to the Hills
- Locate the small path leading into the hills at coordinates 68.6, 39.6.
- Locate Namida Grimtotem
- Find the level 43 elite Namida Grimtotem inside a hut at coordinates 66.6, 38.2.
- Defeat Namida Grimtotem
- Defeat Namida Grimtotem to obtain the Rune of the Windstorm, which grants you the Gale Winds rune.
By following these steps, you will acquire the Gale Winds rune.
How to Get Elune’s Fires in SoD
To obtain the Elune’s Fires rune (Wrists) in Azshara during the Season of Discovery, follow these steps:
Prerequisite:
- Ensure you have trained Hibernate.
Steps:
- Loot the Traveller’s Knapsack
- Find and loot the Traveller’s Knapsack at coordinates 20.6, 61.8 in Azshara.
- Read Keldara’s Log
- Open the bag and read Keldara’s Log contained within it.
- Collect Satyrweed Samples
- Loot the Satyrweed Bramble growing in the surrounding area to collect 3 Satyrweed Samples. Note: Once you find one, you can loot it endlessly.
- Brew Satyrweed Tincture
- Use the Field Medicine Kit to combine the Satyrweed Samples and brew the Satyrweed Tincture.
- Find and Cure the Thunderhead Hippogryph
- Go north and find a green Thunderhead Hippogryph that has the Satyr Corruption debuff.
- Use Hibernate on the hippogryph and then use the Satyrweed Tincture on it. You will receive the Rune of the Moon Goddess, which grants you Elune’s Fires.
By following these steps, you will acquire the Elune’s Fires rune.
How to Get Efflorescence in SoD
To obtain the Efflorescence rune (Wrists) at level 45 in the Season of Discovery, follow these steps:
- Get the Quest
- Go to Tyrisius at coordinates 57.2, 69.0 in Feralas, located in one of the towers. Accept the quest “Wisdom of the Guardians” (requires level 45).
- Prove Yourself to the GuardiansGuardian of Feralas:
- Interact with the Shrine: Go to the shrine at coordinates 58.7, 52.4 to receive the Duty of the Warden buff.
- Remove Curses and Poisons: Use Remove Curse and Abolish Poison on yourself to remove dots. To get poisoned and cursed, you can:
- Duel a Hunter or Rogue and a Warlock or Priest.Engage with Gordunni Warlocks and Stinglasher around coordinates 74, 62.
- Interact with the Shrine: Go to the shrine at coordinates 66, 53 in The Hinterlands.Cast Spells: Cast Tranquility followed by Hurricane on the altar. This will cause Moonkin Avatar to spawn.Defeat Moonkin Avatar: Defeat the Moonkin Avatar.
- Collect Sacred Stag Heart: While in bear or cat form, defeat Child of Apa’ro around coordinates 43, 35 in Azshara and loot the Sacred Stag Heart.
- Use Sacred Stag Heart: Go to the Shrine of the Beast at coordinates 34.7, 48.7 and use the Sacred Stag Heart. This will cause Hippogryph Avatar to spawn.
- Defeat Hippogryph Avatar: Defeat the Hippogryph Avatar.
- Remove Curses and Poisons: Use Remove Curse and Abolish Poison on yourself to remove dots. To get poisoned and cursed, you can:
- Return to Tyrisius
- After proving yourself to all the guardians, return to Tyrisius in Feralas and turn in the quest. You will receive the Rune of Efflorescence and the Seed of Renewal.
By following these steps, you will acquire the Efflorescence rune.
How to Get Improved Frenzied Regeneration in SoD
To obtain the Improved Frenzied Regeneration rune (Wrists) in the Season of Discovery, follow this quest chain:
Step 1: Start the Quest
- Accept the Quest
- Go to the Emerald Sanctuary in Felwood at coordinates 51.6, 82.0.
- Accept the quest “The Wild Gods” from the Shadowtooth Emissary.
Step 2: Obtain Wildwhisper Draught
- Defeat Elites in Jintha’alor
- Head to Jintha’alor in The Hinterlands.
- Defeat elites until you obtain the Wildwhisper Draught. Only one player in the group needs to complete this step.
Step 3: Summon the Spirit of Agamaggan
- Clear Razorfen Downs
- Go to Razorfen Downs and defeat the final boss.
- Clear the area around the small ledge.
- Use Wildwhisper Draught
- Use the Wildwhisper Draught on the small ledge to summon the Spirit of Agamaggan.
- Turn in the Quest
- Turn in the quest to the Spirit of Agamaggan to receive Agamaggan’s Roar and the follow-up quest “The Wild Gods.”
Step 4: Collect Wild Offerings
- Obtain 3 Wild Offerings
- You can collect Wild Offerings from Zul’Farrak, Maraudon, or Blackrock Depths. You can visit the same dungeon multiple times if needed. Get more details in our Guide!
Zul’Farrak:
- Defeat 2-3 bosses to spawn a spider ghost.
- Look for the chat emote “You feel a shadowed presence.”
- The spider patrols around and south of Gahz’rilla.
- Use Agamaggan’s Roar near the spider ghost to summon the level 52 elite Delirious Ancient.
- Defeat Delirious Ancient and loot the Wild Offering.
Maraudon:
- Defeat Princess Theradras to spawn a raptor ghost in the water on the upper level.
- Look for the chat emote “You feel a shadowed presence.”
- Use Agamaggan’s Roar near the raptor ghost to summon the level 52 elite Delirious Ancient.
- Defeat Delirious Ancient and loot the Wild Offering.
Blackrock Depths:
- Defeat Houndmaster Grebmar, High Interrogator Gerstahn, and the Ring of Law to spawn a basilisk ghost on the Dark Iron Highway leading to Bael’gar.
- Look for the chat emote “You feel a shadowed presence.”
- Use Agamaggan’s Roar near the basilisk ghost to summon the level 52 elite Delirious Ancient.
- Defeat Delirious Ancient and loot the Wild Offering.
Step 5: Complete the Quest
- Return to Shadowtooth Emissary
- Go back to the Emerald Sanctuary in Felwood and turn in the quest to the Shadowtooth Emissary.
- You will receive Hyjal’s Wisdom, from which you can learn the Improved Frenzied Regeneration rune.
