This guide will show you the quickest way to level your Classic First Aid skill from 1 to 300 in World of Warcraft classic or Season of Discovery as cost-effectively as possible.
What’s the best combination? Since First Aid is a secondary profession, it doesn’t matter which primary you choose in WoW. First Aid is a good choice for every class without healing spells.

To advance Classic First Aid past 150, you need the book Expert First Aid – Under Wraps.
You can purchase this book from Deneb Walker (Alliance) in Arathi Highlands or Balai Lok’Wein (Horde) in Dustwallow Marsh. These vendors also sell the next two bandage recipes, so be sure to buy all three while you’re there! If you’re low level or just prefer convenience, you can also buy the book from the Auction House instead of traveling to the vendor.
Purchase these three books:
Right-click on the Expert First Aid – Under Wraps book in your bag to learn it, which will allow you to continue making Silk Bandages. If you haven’t learned the Silk Bandage recipe yet, you will need to visit your first aid trainer to do so.

Learn Artisan First Aid
You can advance Classic First Aid above 225 and learn Artisan First Aid by completing the Triage quests.
Once your First Aid skill reaches 225, and you are level 35, you can begin the optional Alliance Trauma / Horde Trauma quest. These quests lead you to the Triage / Triage quest, which can be done in Dustwallow Marsh for the Alliance or Arathi Highlands for the Horde.
Make sure to bring all the materials you’ll need to skill up to 290 before you start. You’ll need around 100 Mageweave Cloth and 70 Runecloth to learn various recipes from the quest giver NPCs, Doctor Gustaf VanHowzen for the Alliance and Doctor Gregory Victor for the Horde.
- Doctor Gustaf VanHowzen: Located in Theramore Isle, Dustwallow Marsh. He can be found inside the main keep where the guards are practicing. Go inside, turn right, then left, and he is in the corner room.
- Doctor Gregory Victor: Found in Hammerfall, Arathi Highlands. Enter Hammerfall, turn left, and he is in the building just past the entrance on the left.
How to Complete the Triage Quest
Here are some tips to make the quest easier:
- Press CTRL + V to activate health bars over the patients’ heads for easier health monitoring, or check “Show NPC names” in Interface Options.
- Zoom out to third-person view to see as much of the room as possible.
- Place the triage bandages given by the doctor on your action bar. Do not use your own bandages. You can also bind them to a key for faster access.
- Position yourself in the middle of the room for optimal reach.
- Pre-select patients by left-clicking on them, and as soon as you finish healing your current patient, click the bandages in your action bar to start healing the pre-selected patient. This saves valuable seconds.
- Once you have saved 15 patients, turn in the quest immediately. Delaying might cause patients to die, potentially failing the quest.
Patient Types and Prioritization
- Critically Injured: Will die after you heal 2 other patients.
- Badly Injured: Will die after you heal 4 other patients.
- Injured: Have a longer time before they die.
Prioritize healing patients based on their injury severity. Start from one side of the room and work your way through. Using this strategy ensures that you can complete the quest on your first attempt.
